Technology

TestVision offers connections with existing systems and comprehensive role and permission management. Of course, we take all possible security measures to protect privacy-sensitive data.

TestVision is a SaaS solution. You always have the latest version, without having to do any maintenance yourself. Moreover, there is no limit on the number of (simultaneous) developers and candidates, the number of test questions, or the number of conducted tests. Good to know: TestVision is an all-in-one package. We do not work with modules. All functionalities are always available to every customer.

Roles and rights

Rights can be toggled by the administrator in TestVision. At your own request or in accordance with the guidelines of the educational institution or organisation. For example, one user can compose a test, but not publish it. Another user then receives the publishing rights and is therefore responsible for the final check.

Connections

When you test digitally, you often also want to exchange data with existing systems. TestVision can be integrated into existing IT infrastructures without any problems. We use API and LTI for all these connections.

What data can you exchange with TestVision?

Here are some examples:

  • Candidate data from the administration system.
  • Examination information, so that the correct test is ready when the candidate has registered or if he meets the conditions in the learning portal.
  • Testresults that are processed in the student administration system or learning portal.
  • Authorization (single sign on), with which candidates and developers can log in via an account that they already use within the organization (for example, SURFconext).

Security and monitoring

Security measures from Teelen

Security is a shared responsibility between Teelen and the customer. Teelen takes care of security and monitoring behind the scenes, such as:

  • Direct storage of answers on the server, so that no test data is lost in case of power failure or a faltering internet connection. After rebooting and logging in, the candidate continues where he left off.
  • Backup procedures ensure that data is not lost due to calamities.
  • Installation of available security updates.
  • Protection against DDos attacks.
  • Monitoring of TestVision availability, performance and error-free operation.

Our advice for self-regulation

In addition, there are security measures that you, as a customer, can take yourself:

  • Special test password and IP check, which prevent the candidate from starting the test too early or from an unauthorized location.
  • Log in with a unique name and/or login code in the form of tickets, whereby the candidate receives a one-time ticket number and password for one specific test.
  • A status monitor for the supervisor with the progress of each candidate. Deviations, such as logging in twice, are immediately visible.
  • A secure browser that allows the candidate to use only TestVision on their computer. If tools or specific websites are needed to take the test, this is set in advance (‘whitelisting’). TestVision has a built-in link with Safe Exam Browser, but you can also use your own secure browser.
